Pharmaceutical, food fairs to lure investors
The annual International Medical and Pharmaceutical Exhibition will be held at the HCM City Exhibition and Convention Centre from August 21 to 24.
It will run in conjunction with the 12th International Exhibition on Food and Beverages.
The medical and pharmaceutical show is a platform for domestic and foreign companies to display their goods and services, exchange information, explore demand and extend markets. It will have a section specializing in the latest high-tech products.
Seminars and meetings will also be held to introduce Vietnamese machinery for making medicine and health-care equipment, said Nguyen Khac Luan, director of the Vietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising Company (Vinexad), organizer of the two exhibitions.
There will be about 300 booths displaying products from many countries, including Vietnam, the United States, Germany, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Israel.
Dong Viet Thang, chairman of the Vietnam Pharmaceutical Companies Association, said the seminars would enable domestic enterprises to sign contracts with foreign partners.
Last year, Vietnam exported US$40 million worth of drugs. Pharmaceuticals sold in Europe totaled US$6 million. The twelfth International Exhibition on Food and Beverages will be held in conjunction with the pharmaceutical exhibition.
The annual event of the food and drink industry in Vietnam, will be attended by hundreds of Vietnamese and foreign companies.
The aim of both exhibitions is to develop business contacts – and save time and money used for traveling.
