Pha Rung Shipyard launches 34,000 DWT vessel

The Pha Rung Shipyard company on July 31 successfully launched a 34,000 DWT cargo ship, the largest of its kind built by the firm.

The vessel, named San Felice, is the first in a series of 14 ships contracted for construction with the Graig Investments group from the United Kingdom .

Measuring 180m long, 30m wide and 30m high, the ship is designed by the Danish group Carl Bro a/s and uses technology by the Shanghai Hengar Ship Design Co Ltd. It is able to travel at 14 nautical miles per hour.

The same day, the Hai Phong-based company announced a decision to turn it into the Pha Rung Shipyard Corporation.
