Construction of nation’s largest gas storage begins
Construction of a storage capable of containing 6,000 tonnes of gas, the largest of its kind in the country, began in Go Dau industrial park in the southern province of Dong Nai on July 31.
The 215 billion VND (12.6 million USD) project will have a pipeline system and ports work with tankers of 50,000 tonnes upwards.
The storage will also be equipped with a system to get gas collected from offshore fields for industrial parks.
Once completed, the storage will receive gas from Dinh Co gas processing plant in neighboring Ba Ria-Vung Tau province in addition to imported gas.
The project is expected to be put into operation in September 2009.
