Dragon fruit to breathe fire in US
Vietnamese dragon fruit was given the green light to enter the US market from July 30, the Vietnam Trade Office in the US announced Monday.
Approval for exports of the fruit to the US was given by the US Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service after it inspected Vietnam’s dragon fruit growing procedures.
Dragon fruit is grown mainly in the Mekong Delta’s Tien Giang and Long An provinces and Binh Thuan Province in the central region.
The main export markets for Vietnamese dragon fruit in the past have been China, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.
