Plan of Chu Lai International Airport announced
The master plan for the Chu Lai International Airport for the 2015-2025 period was made public on July 31 by the Vietnam Civil Aviation Department and the Quang Nam People's Committee.
Under the plan, Chu Lai International Airport will have a total area of 2,006 hectares by 2015 and will be served as a civil and military airport.
The airport is planned to be able to receive 4.1 million passengers and handle some 5 million tonnes of cargo a year.
Total cost for fundamental construction is estimated at VND 11.5 trillion.
Chu Lai Airport was officially put into use as a civil airport on March 22, 2005.
