Vinashin plans more invetsment in Cam Ranh

The State-owned Vietnam Ship-building Industry Corporation (Vinashin) has submitted its plan to manufacture ships’ equipment in Cam Ranh industrial park to the Khanh Hoa people’s Committee in central Vietnam.

The corporation’s investments aim to produce blocks, internal parts, engines, deck’s facilities, steel structure of ships in the IP.

It also aims to manufacture steel plates, cranes and diesel-fueled power engines in the central province.

Vinashin has a shipyard, which is capable of building ships of 50,000 DWT in Cam Ranh. The 598 billion VND (35.1 million USD) first phase of the project had been put into operation in the first quarter of this year.

The corporation plans to expand the shipyard with an estimated investment of 3 trillion VND (176.4 million USD) by 2010.
