From August 10, train fares up
From August 10, the train fares of the Thong Nhat rail line will be increased by 4%, according to the Vietnam Railway Corporation.
The SE train fares for hard and soft beds with air-conditioners will rise from 13% – 15%. The fares for hard seats which account for 50% of total fares will stay unchanged in order to serve low-income passengers. Other types of fares will be 1-15% higher.
From August 5, the corporation also will add a surcharge of 5-10% to current cargo transportation freight.
According to the corporation, the fare adjustment aims to offset the higher fuel cost since early this year.
