Vietnam’s agricultural exports rise in first half
Farm, forestry and sea-food export revenues topped US$7.6 billion in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 24.8 percent.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Planning Department said revenue from farm product exports rose 31 percent to $4.2 billion, revenue from seafood increased 14 percent to $1.9 billion and revenue from forestry exports jumped 21 percent to $1.5 billion.
Vietnam is expected to earn more than $13.6 billion from exporting farm, forestry and seafood products in 2008, up from nearly $11 billion in 2007, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
