Seminar discusses ways to promote corporate governance
More than 100 representatives from research agencies and businesses attended a seminar on "Curbing inflation from corporate governance perspective" held in Hanoi on July 24 by Vietnam Association of Corporate Directors and Nha quan ly (Manager) Magazine.
Delegates to the seminar discussed measures and solutions in the management of businesses in order to minimise the impact of inflation, maintain stable production and growth and preparing for faster development in the years to come.
They all agreed that inflation is causing various difficulties for enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises and those who have just been established. The difficulties include difficult access to bank loans, high interest rates and strict lending conditions, difficult access to foreign currencies to import materials and equipment, amongst others.
To cope with these, many enterprises have had to adjust their investment plans, cancel or delay their projects to concentrate capital for more urgent projects, practice thrift to cut costs, seeking domestically made materials instead of imported ones and expanding export markets.
