Indochina Capital CEO pleased with Vietnam’s business environment

Peter R. Ryder, CEO and General Director of the Indochina Capital group, an US investor with big investment projects in Vietnam, was received by President Nguyen Minh Triet on July 25.

Ryder reported his host of his group’s investment of 1 billion USD in Vietnam ’s real estate projects spreading from Hanoi to central and central highlands provinces of Quang Nam , Phan Thiet, and Lam Dong, to southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province and Ho Chi Minh City .

The Indochina Capital is the first securities investment fund in Vietnam to be listed at the London Exchange. The group’s Nam Hai Resort in central Quang Nam province was selected by the US’s Travel and Leisure magazine as the world best resort in 2008.

Ryder also spoke of his group’s active contributions to Vietnam ’s programmes to support the community such as providing vocational training and humanitarian activities.

The Indochina Capital CEO expressed thanks to the Vietnamese Government and people for their support to his group’s operation in the country.

He said his group, as a successful investor in Vietnam, is willing to contribute to the country’s socio-economic development. He himself also convinced other US groups to invest in Vietnam, as he saw Vietnam has great potential for development, particularly from now to 2015.

President Triet asserted the Vietnamese State would create favourable conditions for foreign investors, including those from the US , to develop their business in Vietnam .

He thanked Ryder for his active support for the ratification of the Vietnam-US Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) and Vietnam’s admission to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

He asked his guest to give more support to Vietnam in obtaining the US’s Generalised System of Preferences (GSP).

The President appreciated the Indochina Capital’s contributions to Vietnam and expressed his hope that the group would continue to promote Vietnam ’s image in the US and encourage other US investors to come to the country.
