Van Xuan Taxi has also raised fares by 2,000 dong per kilometre and its customers have to pay bridge and ferry tolls, if any.
Mai Linh Taxi has also increased fares from July 23. The new fares of its four-seat taxis are 11,500 dong per kilometre for the first 30 kilometres, 8,500 dong per kilometre from the thirty first kilometre. The new fares of its seven -seat taxis are 12,500 dong per kilometre for the first 30 kilometres and 9,000 dong per kilometre from the thirty sixth kilometre.
However, two large taxi companies in capital city, namely Hanoi Taxi and CP Taxi, still keep their fares unchanged.
A representative from CP Taxi said: "At present, the company is supporting the petrol cost for its drivers and cut other costs in order to ensure no losses. However, the company can not tighten its belt for a long time. So, it is considering raising its fares in the coming time".
