CPI scheduled to rise 1 percent in July
Common prices of commodities in Hanoi in July increased by 1.65 percent against June, said the General Statistics Office. With this, Hanoi’s CPI increased 18.82 percent against the end of 2007 and 28.84 percent on year.
Of this figure, entertainment and tourism group increased 2.36 percent; housing and building materials, 2.01 percent; medicine and health service, 1.99 percent and restaurant and eating and drinking service, 1.96 percent.
In Ho Chi Minh City, CPI increased by 0.54 percent against June, much lower than 4.24 percent two months ago and the lowest figure since the early this year. A low increase in CPI in the city is because restaurant and eating and drinking group only rose by 0.11 percent and other commodities rose by from 0.4 to 0.6 percent.
With the increases in the two big cities, economic experts forecasted that the country’s CPI in July only increased about 1 percent against June.
