Trading volume increases on Hanoi Exchange
The Ho Chi Minh City market saw a modest drop, with the VN-Index down by 5.12 points and ending the session at 379. Some 135 stocks experienced declines.
Total trading volume were 3 million units with a total value of VND214 billion (US$13.1 million). Only 900,000 shares worth VND25 billion (US$1.5 million) changed hands.
Ha Noi’s HASTC-Index fell by 1.4 points. Trading volume was six times higher than in HCMC, with 20 million shares worth VND1.6 trillion (US$98 billion) changing hands. Some 18.9 million units were bonds worth VND1.6 billion (US$98 million).
Monday afternoon, the price of gold and foreign exchange decreased. SJC and PNJ both traded gold at VND18.6 million (US$1,100) per tael. The selling price declined VND120,000 (US$7.37) per tael compared to last week’s close.
