Mozambique wants to further agricultural ties with Vietnam
A leading Mozambique official said he hoped his country’s businesses strengthen cooperation with their Vietnamese partners, particularly in the area of agriculture.
Mozambique Minister of Industry and Trade Antonio Fernando made the statement during his meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister-cum-Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem in Hanoi on June 12.
Minister Fernando also said Mozambique wants to export more commodities to Vietnam and import from the Southeast Asian country foods, including rice to ensure its food security.
According to the minister, his Vietnam visit is aimed at implementing the cooperative agreements, particularly in trade, between the two countries.
Deputy PM Khiem said as Vietnam and Mozambique have many similarities - both have experienced the struggle for national liberation and both are developing, there is potential for cooperation and mutual assistance in national construction and development.
The Deputy PM proposed that the two ministries of Industry and Trade discuss specific cooperation contents and fields in line with current situations in their respective countries.
