Oil and petrol supplies ensured
Under the direction of the Prime Minister, relevant ministries and branches are ensuring sufficient supplies of oil and petrol in any situation, Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry Nguyen Cam Tu affirmed at the press briefing on June 10.
The press briefing was held after the report that some oil and petrol filling stations in a few localities had temporarily stopped their operation.
At the press briefing, Mr. Nguyen Cam Tu said that the relevant ministries and branches had to ensure no shortages of petrol and oil, contributing to inflation curb, stability of macro-economic balance, economic development, social security guarantee, and fulfilment of socio-economic targets.
Current oil and petrol sources of supplies are guaranteed on the basis of the fact that all the heading businesses have been allotted with minimum norms of importing petrol and oil. The norm is calculated in such a way as to totally meet sufficient requirements for consumption and production maintain economic growth.
On the basis of sufficient sources of supplies, these businesses have delivered sufficient petrol and oil to the general agents, and then to agents and filling stations.
Any businesses that have signs of marking up prices, and committing a fraud in oil and petrol quality, will be immediately suspended.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry will punish any violations discovered by functional bodies, people and the press.
