Year-end session sees upward trend
Both the Ho Chi Minh City bourse and its Ha Noi-based counterpart recorded increases during the last session of the current Lunar Year on February 1.
The VN-Index of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) jumped 15.51 points or 1.83 percent to finish at 859.62 points with more than 15 million shares, worth over 1.3 trillion VND, changing hands.
The session witnessed 126 shares rally for gains, 14 remain unchanged and eight fall.
Binh Dinh Minerals (BMC) topped the list of movers after adding 13,000 VND to its price, followed by Tay Ninh Cable Tour (TCT) (12,000 VND), North Kinhdo Food (NKD) (7,000 VND) and Hau Giang Pharmaceuticals (DHG) (5,000 VND).
Many investors showed their optimism over the market which was covered with blue in six consecutive days. They also predicted that the market will continue the upward trend after Tet as its main indexes, including price and volume, remain high.
At the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre, the HaSTC-Index experienced a slight increase of 4.07 points to close at 298.20 points. Over 6 million shares worth 454 billion VND were traded.
Most of listed shares enjoyed increases of between 2,000 VND and 3,000 VND per share.
