Vietnam inquires into personnel management in US

Minister of Home Affairs Tran Van Tuan is leading a delegation to the US from May 11-15 to learn about personnel management.

In Washington, the delegation had a working session with senior officials of the Office of Personnel Management, where they heard about  workforce planning, performance assessment, position management and descriptions, prohibited personnel practices and merit system principles relating to employees of federal agencies.

The delegation was received by John Berry, who has just been appointed by the US President and approved by the Senate as Director of the Office of Personnel Management.

The delegation also worked on personnel management with the US Merit Systems Protection Board.

It will have discussions on the same theme with authorities of New York city and the JFK School of Government, Harvard University, in Massachusets.
