Russia welcomes back 39 Vietnamese seafood, meat exporters

Russian authorities have cleared 39 Vietnamese seafood and meat processing companies to export to Russia following the scrapping of a ban on imports from Vietnam.

They include Vissan, Liproco, Basefood, Hung Vuong, Cholifood, Pacific Seafood and Vinalivesko, according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade’s European Market Department.

Russia last month lifted a ban on import of food and seafood products from Vietnam, which it had imposed last December after some products were found containing banned chemicals.

Vietnam exported US$200 million worth of seafood products to Russia last year.
