India-Vietnam trade exchange reaches US$1.5 billion this year

The Indian Chamber of Commerce (Incham) held a ceremony in HCM City on December 21 to mark its 10th anniversary. 

According to Incham, Vietnam-India trade exchange has increased from US$72 million in 1995 to US$1.5 billion in 2008.

Many Indian corporations and companies have been operating in Vietnam including Tata, Birla, Essar, Reliance and the leading petroleum corporation ONGC.

So far, Incham has had 173 members operating in HCM City and Hanoi. The agency helps enterprises from both countries to cooperate in the fields of investment, business, pharmaceuticals, goods, steel, oil and gas, chemicals, education and information technology. India wants to be Vietnam’s fifth largest investor in Vietnam.
