MPI sets up fund to develop SMEs
The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) has chaired a conference to discuss the government’s draft decree on supporting small-and-medium sized enterprises.
According to the draft decree, the fund to develop SMEs is aimed at mobilizing, receiving and managing aid resources to implement activities to support SMEs. The aid resources will not only come from financial organizations in the country but also from international organizations.
The fund will provide financial assistance to programmes and projects to improve competitiveness, and direct credit institutions to giving preferential loans to SMEs feasible projects.
The MPI will establish a centre to promote the development of SMEs in order to provide consultancy services and implement a pilot model to support them.
