- 17 December 1998: Saigon Maritime Company was established as a State-owned enterprise under the Decision No.630/HDQT issued by Vietnam National Shipping Lines's chairman of the board;

- 01 March 2002: Transformed into Sai Gon Maritime Joint Stock Company with a charter capital of VND09 billion under the Decision No.538/QD/BGTVT issued by Ministry of Transport;

- 15 April 2002: Came into operation under the model of a joint stock company under the business registration certificate No.4103000942 issued by Ho Chi Minh Department of Planning and Investment;

- 22 May 2006: Charter capital was raised up to VND14 billion;
