- 1992: Ba Ria Electricity Factory was established under the control of Electricity Company No.2 belonging to the Ministry of Energy;
- 1995: The factory was transformed to a member unit of Vietnam Electricity Group.
- 2005: The factory became Ba Ria Thermo Power Company.
- 2005: The Company officially accounted independently;
- 2006: Ba Ria Thermo - electricity Company was equitized to Ba Ria Thermo - electricity Joint Stock Company.
- 2009: The company is officially listed on Hochiminh Stock Exchange HOSE.
- 2012: Minister of Industry and Trade establishes BTP's parrents company - Vietnam Electricity Power generation Corporation 3.
