HOSE: Explanation for the break-down of price board in the morning Feb 01

In the online transaction method, the Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE) has two channels to connect to the securities companies. Firstly, the main channel is online trading portal where is the interaction between the trading system of securities companies and HOSE happens to receive commands and return results. This channel on February 01 worked normally.

Secondly, to support online transactions, HOSE has the second channel to transmit real-time data from the Exchange to the securities companies’ price board. In the morning of February 01, 2013, due to an error in the server of this channel, some securities companies could not connect to retrieve the information displayed on the price board.

The Hochiminh Stock Exchange quickly switched to the standby server. The problem was fixed in about 10 minutes.
