Shares regain value, led by blue chips
Shares quickly rebounded this morning on both national stock exchanges after yesterday's correction.
On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index regained 0.68 per cent to close this morning's session at 473.39 points on a turnover of VND957.8 billion (US$45.6 million).
Gainers outnumbered losers by 173-64, led by blue chips.
The VN30 Index, which tracks the performance of the 30 leading shares by market value and liquidity, increased 0.59 per cent to stand at 541.23 points. Twenty-three codes rallied while only two slumped, including food giant Masan Group (MSN) and Phu Nhuan Jewelry (PNJ).
Mining and real estate shares continued to rise, with many soaring to the ceiling prices this morning.
Becamex Infrastructure Development (IJC) temporarily led trades on the HCM City bourse this morning with over 2.8 million shares changing hands, being traded at the ceiling of VND13,600 ($0.65).
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also rose 0.72 per cent to finish this morning at 79.31 points as advancers overwhelmed decliners by 174-74.
Trading volume reached nearly 38.4 million shares worth just VND391.5 billion ($18.6 million).
Habubank (HBB) continued to be the most active share but the volume decreased to just over 3 million shares compared to around 10 million shares in the previous sessions. The shares increased 1.4 per cent to VND7,200.
