Shares are mixed on both bourses
Stocks on the HCM City bourse managed to close Thursday morning's session in the green, but lost value on the Ha Noi bourse after rising for three consecutive days.
In HCM City, the VN-Index finished this morning higher at 473.11 points, up just 0.05 per cent from yesterday's close.
Market value stood at VND1.18 trillion (US$56.2 million) on a volume of 67.1 million shares.
Losers narrowly outnumbered gainers by 127-103 but blue chips tumbled as half of the 30 leading shares by market value and liquidity declined, driving the VN30 Index down 0.11 per cent to 542.2 points.
Shares of minerals companies continued to buck the trend, with most of them hitting their ceiling prices this morning with buys overwhelming sells. They included Binh Dinh Minerals (BMC), Nari Hamico Minerals (KSS), Tay Bac Minerals Investment (KTB), Binh Thuan Hamico Mineral (KSA) and Lao Cai Mineral Exploitation & Processing (LCM).
SACOM Development and Investment (SAM) was the most active share this morning on a volume of 4 million, traded at the ceiling of VND9,700.
In Ha Noi, the HNX-Index fell 0.54 per cent to close at 79.12 points on a turnover of VND510 billion ($24.3 million).
Decliners outnumbered advancers by 192-43.
Habubank (HBB) continued to be the most active stock with 11 million shares changing hands, closing up 2.9 per cent to VND7,200.
