Vietnam sets to export 7.3 mln tonnes of rice in 2012

Vietnam is expected to export 6.8-7.3 million tonnes of rice this year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The country is predicted to export 880,000 tonnes of rubber, grossing $2.1 trillion.

Export of cashew nut is estimated at more than 200,000 tonnes, valued $1.75 billion compared to 178,000 tonnes and $1.5 billion, respectively, in 2011.

This year, the country also set to export 140,000 tonnes of tea compared to 131,000 tonnes last year.

It is also expected to earn $2.7 billion from coffee exports and $6.6 billion from aquatic product exports.
