BAS: 2011 First half operation results explanation

In the first 2 quarters of 2011, Basa JSC (HOSE: BAS) lost VND8,259,043,276 because of the following reasons:

• The main reason was the increase in financial expense. The financial expense in QII-2011 increased more than 86% from the same period of last year because the balance of loan went up and bank interest rates rose from 14% to 21%/year.

• Besides, because of the tightening credit policy, the Company in QII-2011 just was in short-time working, so it had to pay high administrative expense. Moreover, inflation has increased highly, which has made prices of materials, fuel and fixed costs go up.
