Dao Heuang to finish coffee plant by year end
The Dao Heuang Group will finish building its USD 50-million instant coffee factory in the largest coffee-growing province of Champassak by the end of this year, according to Dao Heuang Group General Manager Sisouphonh Sihalath.
“Once the factory is built, it will produce 8,000 tonnes of instant coffee annually for export to China, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and the EU,” said Mr. Sisouphonh. The building of the factory would encourage local people to grow more coffee plants. At present the company has 250 ha of coffee plantation. Last year, the company exported 15,000 tonnes of coffee, valued at USD 26 million, to overseas market.
Mr. Sisouphonh also said that since the Dao Heuang Group had experienced significant growth over years the company planned to register with the Lao Securities Exchange next year to ensure its growth.
In recent years, the Dao Heuang Group has launched new products, including instant tea, dried fruits and drinking water under its brand “Dao” (star).
