Vietnam adds 17 foreign institutional investors in September

The Vietnam Securities Depository Agency said Monday it has issued licenses to 17 new foreign institutional investors in September to trade local stocks, raising the total number to 1,377.

During the month, 58 foreign individuals also received permission to trade, increasing the total number to 13,200, the agency said in a statement.

Vietnam's share index, or VN index, has fallen 10% so far this year and the Hochiminh Stock Exchange's total market capitalization was VND530 trillion ($27 billion) as of Monday.
