US$1.2 bil injected to Hoa Lac Hi-tech Zone

With a total capital of US$35 million, the FPT Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park Development Company will begin to upgrade its infrastructure late this year.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Van Lang, who is also head of the management board of the Hoa Lac Hi-tech Zone has granted a certificate of investment to FPT and four other businesses, bringing the total investment in the 47 projects there to more than US$1.2 billion.

The company is expected to complete modernizing its technical infrastructure up to international standards by 2015.

In addition, the FPT Software Joint Stock Company will spend some US$50 million on building the Technology Village into a modern centre by 2016.

The management board says that from now until the end of the year, it will grant certificates of investment to 12 projects including several major businesses. In addition, the board will consider 38 new investment projects in the Hoa Lac Hi-tech Zone.
