Gold price in Laos rises

The price of gold jewels in Laos has been surging in line with the rising gold price in the world market.

Last week's price of gold in the world market hit a high record, which was the result of the depreciation of the US dollars.

The price of gold in Vientiane market last Thursday was 5.3 million per one-baht weight (around 15 g) of gold jewels. When compared to the last two week, a one-baht weight of gold increases 70,000 kip.

Many specialists have forecast that the gold price in the world market will see further rise, which the gold price is expected to reach US$1,650 per ounce in the next 12 months.
