Legal tool enforcement for foreign currency management evaluated
The Department of Foreign Currencies, Bank of the Lao PDR, last Friday held a meeting to evaluate the implementation of foreign currency management and the promotion of public use of the national currency "kip".
The meeting was presided over by Acting Director of the Department of Foreign Currencies Khamphouth Sitthilath. The event drew the participation of members of the committees for the enforcement of legal tools for foreign currency management and Lao kip use promotion.
Since February this year, committees on the enforcement of legal tools on managing foreign currencies in Laos have been established in the Vientiane Administration Office, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Industry and Commerce Service of Vientiane Capital, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Finance, the Public Prosecutors� Office and the Ministry of Information and Culture.
The meeting also approved resolution on the operation of the committees on the enforcement of legal tools on managing foreign currencies in the country and the promotion of Lao kip use among the general public.
