Lao stock market is 60 per cent completed
Standing Deputy Prime Minister who is also a Chairman of the Lao Security Exchange Commission, Mr. Somsavat Lengsavad, last Thursday visited the construction site of the Lao Security Exchange to inspect its progress.
The stock market construction under the Bank of the Lao PDR has been carried out by the Sengvisay Construction Co., Ltd in collaboration with the PM Consulting Company.
The construction of the stock market, which began in November 2009 is now completed by 60 per cent, said the President of the Sengvisay Construction Co., Ltd, Mr. Thongla Sengvisay.
This is the first stock market in the Lao PDR to operate at the end of this year. During the visit, Mr. Somsavat urged the contractor to speed up the construction work to finish in time to ensure the operation scheduled for October this year.
The contractor confirmed that the construction would be completed by the schedule.
Governor of the Bank of the Lao PDR, Mr. Phouphet Khamphounvong, who is also Vice President of the Security Exchange Commission, and its members also accompanied, Mr Somsavat.
