Leading Lao brewery company ready for public listing
The Lao Brewery Company (LBC), a joint venture between the Lao government and the Danish Carlsberg Brewery Company, is expected to list on the country's first stock market as soon as the market opens in October this year or at a later date, the Lao newspaper Vientiane Times reported Thursday.
The company's administration board will discuss the issue next month and the listing on the market will also need permission from the government, said LBC Managing Director Kissana Vongsay.
Kissana said that the company expected to raise capital and expand their business by attracting more investors if it listed on the stock exchange.
Currently, the company has strong cash flows and regularly pays dividends to its shareholders. There is no concern about transparency requirements, said Kissana.
LBC dominates the lion share of beer market in Laos. The company's products, typically the Beerlao trademarked product, have presented in many foreign countries including the United States, France and Japan, said the newspaper.
