Vietnam Airlines to join global airline alliance
Vietnam Airlines will become the 10th member of the world’s second largest airline alliance, SkyTeam, next month
Vietnam Airlines will offer a 10 percent discount on all tickets next month to mark its membership of SkyTeam, the world’s second largest airline alliance.
The promotional tickets will be available on the carrier’s website at http://www.vietnamairlines.com.vn/ on June 10, Vietnam News Agency reports.
Once it becomes a member, the airline’s customers will have access to more than 415 airport lounges worldwide and earn miles towards SkyTeam Elite status and redeem miles on any of the 10 member airlines.
Vietnam Airlines is the first Southeast Asian carrier to be accepted by the alliance.
Its fleet of 50 aircraft flies on 64 routes, including 24 international destinations like Beijing, Melbourne, Moscow, Paris, Seoul, Sydney, and Tokyo.
SkyTeam currently consists of Air France, Delta Air Lines, Korean Air, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Aeroméxico, Aeroflot, Alitalia, China Southern Airlines, CSA Czech Airlines besides two associate airlines, Air Europa and Kenya Airways.
It carries 384 million passengers annually on 13,133 daily flights covering 169 countries.
