Garment sector earns nearly US$3 billion in exports

Vietnam’s garment and textile industry recorded an export turnover of almost US$3 billion in the first four months of this year, up 17.1 percent over the same period last year.

The four-month figure has reached 28.5 percent of the sector’s yearly target.

In April alone, the sector earned US$774 million from exports, an increase of 23 percent compared to last year’s corresponding period.

Major export markets include the US, the Republic of Korea and the European Union (EU).
