Vietnam expands its electric investment in Laos
Nguyen Thanh Huan, General Director of the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN)’s International Company and Laos’s Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Thongmi Vongvisay on March 4 signed a memorandum of understanding on the Nammo 1 hydro power plant.
The power plant will be constructed in Laos’s Xieng Khouang province with a total capacity of 62MW and a total capital investment of US$105 million.
This is an important project to supply additional power to the region and for export to Vietnam. The EVN’s International Company will ensure the completion of construction work within 18 months.
