Domestic investment by overseas Vietnamese businesses in UK encouraged

A round-table discussion was held in London on February 28 between overseas Vietnamese entrepreneurs and a delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade led by Deputy Minister Le Danh Vinh.

Deputy Minister Vinh gave the entrepreneurs up-to-date information on State policies about trade, business and investment in Vietnam.

Mr Vinh highlighted potential and prospects for investment and trade cooperation between Vietnam and the UK in the coming years and expressed his optimism about two-way trade turnover in 2010, which is predicted to grow by 17 percent.

Over the past few years, the Ministry of Industry and Trade have been trying to encourage contributions from overseas Vietnamese to national development, said Mr Vinh.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK and Northern Ireland Tran Quang Hoang praised overseas Vietnamese’s efforts to expand investment in their homeland country, promote Vietnamese trademarks in the UK and engage in charity work.
