Developer turns spades on urban area
Trung Nam Joint Stock Company on Monday started work on the US$1.65 billion Quan Nam-Thuy Tu eco-urban area in the central coastal city of Da Nang.
In the first phase, 12 million cubic metres of earth will be cleared.
The eco-urban project will occupy 382ha of land in Hoa Vang District.
Nguyen Hoang Man, the general director, said the project would include commercial and service areas, international-standards clinics, universities, villas and apartments, and sports and entertainment areas.
In addition, there will be restaurants, hotels, resorts, a spa and a mini golf course.
The project's investors are Petro Vietnam Finance Company and South Korea's Mooyoung Architects&Engineers Company.
The consultant is Da Nang Planning Institute.
Investors expect the first phase to be completed in August and the eco-urban area to open in 2016.
The project is 10 kilometres west-northwest from the city centre.
