CEOs predict Viet Nam market trends
Foreign business leaders working in Viet Nam will meet their local counterparts on Friday to discuss the trends in the Vietnamese market and forecast possible difficulties at a seminar titled "Trend of Viet Nam Market in 2010 - Opportunity or challenge?"
Dang Thi Minh Phuong, chairwoman of the HCM City CEO Club, said; "The seminar will feature analysis and appraisals by guest speakers who are CEOs or professors in finance, banking, investment, and real estate."
She said the conference expects to attract around 200 attendees, 10 per cent of them foreign CEOs.
Ashok Sud, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank in Viet Nam, Laos, and Cambodia, will speak on exchange and interest rates.
"Ashok has drawn upon his vast experience in corporate and investment banking to introduce new products and tailored solutions for corporates in Viet Nam at this very critical growth phase of the economy," Nguyen Van Ngoan, commissioner of the club, said.
"In addition, he will focus on infrastructure and the capital market in the country."
Sami Nour Kteily, CEO of PEB Group in Bangladesh, India, and Viet Nam, who has 15 years' experience in investing in Viet Nam, will talk about the Vietnamese market trend and investment prospects in 2010.
Nguyen Cao Tri, CEO of Ben Thanh Land Corp, will provide an in-depth look into likely property market trends next year, Huynh Van Thien Thanh, the club's vice chairman, said.
Mai Thi Tuyet Hoa, associate director, Nielsen Corp, who specialises in consumer research, pharmaceuticals, and finance, would make a presentation on the consumer market, he added.
The seminar, organised by the CEO Club will be held at the Intercontinental Asiana Saigon to celebrate the club's fourth anniversary.
