COM: Explanation for business result in Quarter 3/2009

Materials - Petroleum Joint Stock Company (COM: COMECO) explained the difference in revenue and profit between Quarter 3/2009 and Quarter 2/2009:

Revenue in Quarter 3/2009 was up 122.13% compared with Quarter 2/2009 because the selling prices of petroleum and gas increased in 2 times:

* The first time on 8 Aug 2009: Gas increased by VND500/liter, petroleum decreased by VND500/liter.

* The second time on 29 Aug 2009: Gas increased by VND1,000/liter, diesel oil increased by VND1,000/liter, petroleum increased by VND850/liter.

Total profit before tax raised by 127.86% thanks to the increase in gross profit/liter.
