Int’l agriculture trade fair to open next month

The Vietnam International Agriculture Trade Fair 2009 (AgroViet 2009), an important trade promotion channel for the agriculture sector, will take place in Hanoi from November 12-16.

The fair, themed “Quality, Safety and Sustainable Development”, will serve as a bridge between producers and consumers and help improve domestic goods’ competitiveness, the Agriculture Trade Promotion Centre under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development told a press briefing on October 21.

The event will also introduce agricultural achievements and honour high-quality agro-forestry-seafood and handicraft products.

A series of seminars will be held during the event.

According to a representative of the organising board, many foreign businesses from China, India, Belgium, the US, Japan and the Republic of Korea have registered to showcase their products at the fair’s 450 booths.
