Hanoi deals with 7,000 cases of trade fraud

Over the past nine months, more than 16,000 cases of fake goods and trade fraud have been investigated, nearly 7,000 of them dealt with and fined a total of VND476 billion, according to the Hanoi Steering Committee 127.

However, Nguyen Huy Tuong, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee and Head of the Hanoi Steering Committee 127 attributes Hanoi’s failure to detect major cases of trade fraud, tax evasion and the misuse of industrial property to a lack of close cooperation between functional agencies and localities throughout the country.

Tuong called on them to work closer together to increase their operational efficiency in preventing trade fraud and controlling the market in the remaining months of this year and during the traditional lunar New Year Festival.
