Firms hope to raise profile at China fair
The profiles of some 250 Vietnamese businesses will be showcased at the Global Sources China Sourcing Fair in Hong Kong from October 20-23.
The sourcing reports on Vietnamese businesses were written by Kearny Alliance, a US-based non-profit organisation that visited each Vietnamese-profiled supplier in person to interview owners and senior managers.
Vu Ngoc Khiem, assistant manager of the Kearny Alliance, said the sourcing reports would be an important marketing tool for Vietnamese suppliers to promote their products worldwide, especially in the context of the global recession.
Khiem said the developing countries’ sourcing reports included products manufactured in Viet Nam that would attract buyers because of high quality, good design and environmental safety. Each product-specific sourcing report featured in-depth supply market intelligence, details on about 15 qualified suppliers, top selling export products and design trends, as well as prices and price forecasts.
The reports would also help volume buyers source more profitably from emerging Asian markets, especially from the Viet Nam market across a range of product categories, such as home deco, fashion accessories, gifts and premiums, lawn and garden, lacquerware, and indoor and outdoor furniture.
"Many buyers looking for unique, handcrafted products source from Viet Nam and other developing countries as complementary supply centres to greater China," said Alexander Boome, programme director of the Kearny Alliance.
"The companies we cover in-depth also have websites on Global Sources Online, so this helps buyers quickly locate and contact experienced suppliers of export-quality products," Boome said.
"Global Sources have given each featured supplier a marketing website on Global Sources Online and the tools to manage their online export marketing," said Boome.
