Vietnam’s trade deficit estimated at $11 billion: Report
Vietnam’s trade deficit this year is estimated at US$11 billion, or 19 percent of the country’s trade, Thoi Bao Kinh Te Vietnam newspaper reported, citing a report from the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The Southeast Asian nation’s imports are estimated at $70 billion this year and export are expected to be $59 billion, according to the newspaper.
In 2010, the ministry expects exports to increase at least 6 percent while imports will be around $75 billion, the newspaper report said.
