Carlsberg may withdraw from Vietnam beer venture: Report

Carlsberg A/S may withdraw from a brewery venture in Vietnam, Dau Tu newspaper reported, citing Nguyen Thai Sinh, head of the Vietnamese partner in the project.

Vietnam Tobacco Corp., known as Vinataba, the Vietnamese partner to Carlsberg, is seeking a new foreign investor to carry out the project in the southern province of Long An, the newspaper said.

Scottish & Newcastle Plc. was the foreign partner for the Vietnam venture before the stake was taken over by Carlsberg, Dau Tu said, without giving further details.
