Trucks from Vietnam to be allowed to enter Laos
All pick-up trucks of less than five tonnes that originate in Vietnam will be allowed to enter and be sold in Laos, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said on September 15.
There will be no cap on import volume so that importers may respond directly to the demand of the Lao market, the Ministry added.
However, certificates of origin need to be presented for all imported trucks, and such imports will still be governed by the Lao Government’s import regulations.
