Vietnam-Russia Business Council launches in HCMC
The Vietnam-Russia Business Council (VRBC) launched in Ho Chi Minh City Tuesday to boost bilateral cooperation between Vietnamese and Russian businesses.
Phuong Huu Viet, member of the Economic Committee of National Assembly and chairman of VRBC, said it would also support trade promotion in both countries’ domestic and overseas markets.
Last year, two-way trade reached over US$1.64 billion. However, it has experienced a down trend in the first half of 2009, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Vietnam currently has 19 investment projects worth about $1.7 billion in Russia, mainly in the heavy industry sector.
