Quatest 3, Nihon Denkei ink deal
The Quality Assurance&Testing Centre No 3 (Quatest 3) and the Japan-based electronic measurement instruments company Nihon Denkei yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on testing, metrology and laboratory instrumentation service cooperation.
Under the MoU, Nihon Denkei will co-operate with Quatest 3 in providing instruments for measurement, testing and laboratory instrumentation services to meet customers’ demand.
Quatest 3 director Tran Van Dung said the MoU provided a great opportunity for the signatories to help Vietnamese and Japanese manufacturers and enterprises in the fields of testing, metrology and conformity assessment.
Dung said Quatest 3, which functions under the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality, has provided technical services such as testing, consulting, training, bar code, certification and laboratory instrument services for hundreds of Japanese enterprises operating in Viet Nam’s southern region.
"Japan is now not only one of the leading partners in foreign trade relations with Viet Nam, but also among the top foreign investors and the leader in provision of official development aid to Viet Nam," said Dung.
"When the Viet Nam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (VJEPA) becomes effective, the number of Japanese enterprises operating in Viet Nam is increasing," said Dung.
He added currently some 500 Japanese enterprises are operating in the south of Viet Nam.
