Leather and footwear exports reach US$2.5 bil in seven months
Vietnam’s leather and footwear export earnings reached nearly US$2.5 billion in the past seven months, down roughly 10 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association (LEFASO).
In July alone, the country’s footwear export turnover was US$400 million.
LEFASO said that the footwear sector will have to fulfill a target of over US$2 billion in the remaining months of the year.
To achieve the target, many leather and footwear businesses plan to increase their output by boosting sales via the Internet.
